Brent Watson CPA,Senior State & Local Tax Manager, has 22 years of experience in state and local taxes. Brent served as the Manager of State and Local Taxes at Tyson Foods for 10 years, then later as a manager in Deloitte & Touche’s sales tax outsourcing center, and as sales and property tax manager for WilTel Communications, before initiating a successful state and local tax consulting practice at HoganTaylor, LLP, a regional CPA firm. Brent is Certified Public Accountant, registered to practice in Arkansas, Oklahoma and Texas. Brent is a member of the Institute of Professionals in Taxation and the Oklahoma Society of Certified Public Accountants. Brent has deep experience with manufacturing, with extensive experience in oil and gas, multi-state contractors, and other industries. Over the years he has developed close relationships with auditors and tax authorities in Arkansas, Oklahoma and Texas.

Michael E. Miller CPA, state and local tax manager, is a former sales and use tax auditor for the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts. While working for the State of Texas, he conducted numerous sales and use tax audits throughout Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri and Arkansas, and completed extensive training in Texas sales and use tax and related compliance issues. Mr. Miller was formerly a state and local tax manager at HoganTaylor LLP, and a manager with KPMG’s state and local tax practice in their Tulsa office. He earned a B.B.A. degree with honors in accounting from Northeastern State University in 2003, and B.S. with honors in paralegal studies in 1999. He specializes in sales and use tax with the following industry focus: healthcare, construction, manufacturing, software, and oil and gas. Mike has experience in state and local taxes on a nationwide basis, including Puerto Rico, cross-border Canadian issues, GST/HST and other value-added (VAT), and transaction taxes. Mr. Miller has spoken at numerous CPE events for Lorman Education on Oklahoma, Texas and Arkansas on sales and use tax. He is also a certified public accountant in Oklahoma, and has membership in the American Institute of Certified Public Accoutants (“AICPA”) and the Oklahoma Society of Certified Public Accountants (“OSCPA”).
